Sara G. has always been an advocate for medical marijuana use. As a former native of California, she has been exposed to the positive effects the holistic medicine has on treating various health conditions. “Three years ago, I had been sitting in my office in Pennsylvania, listening to a story on National Public Radio (NPR) about parents having to acquire cannabis illegally to help their children who suffered from seizures,” she said. “It was heartbreaking.” She knew then she had to be a part of the change.
When Pennsylvania announced that legalization of medical marijuana to treat those with certain medical conditions, she started her search for a position in the field. “I wanted to be there to help people through the process and put them at ease,” she stated. During this time, a dear friend of hers had been diagnosed with cancer. Due to the severity of the illness, Sara had become his caregiver in the Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Program since he was unable to leave his home. “I had gone to TerraVida and the moment I walked in, I could feel the warmth and compassion from the staff.” She knew she had the right path for her, and strived to be a part of the team.
A Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana patient herself, Sara is able to experience first-hand how much cannabis has given her relief from her chronic pain. “I want to be able to share my experiences with others, and I feel as though TerraVida has given me that outlet!” she exclaimed.
When she is not assisting patients, Sara enjoys spending time with her growing sons, reading, watching a great film, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
